This study aims to examine the Islamic educational values contained in the Barzanji recitation tradition in the Palembang community. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The research informants consisted of two community members who actively participate in Barzanji recitation activities in various religious events, such as the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, aqiqah, and thanksgiving. The results of the interviews showed that the community views the Barzanji tradition as a means to increase love for the Prophet Muhammad, strengthen Islamic brotherhood, and instill noble moral values in everyday life. The Islamic educational values found include the value of faith in strengthening faith in Allah and His Messenger, the value of worship through the habit of reciting shalawat and prayers, and moral values reflected in the exemplary characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad, such as honesty, patience, and social concern. In addition, the Barzanji tradition also plays a role as an effective non-formal educational medium in transmitting Islamic values to the younger generation. Thus, the tradition of reading Barzanji still has relevance in character building and Islamic education among Palembang society.
