PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM TERHADAP TINDAK PIDANA PENIPUAN ARISAN ONLINE YANG DILAKUKAN MELALUI MEDIA SOSIAL

The rise of online arisan (social savings and credit) practices utilizing social media has given rise to various legal issues, particularly related to fraudulent acts that harm the public. This study aims to analyze legal protection for victims of online arisan fraud and examine the obstacles to law enforcement in handling these cases. The research method used is normative legal research with a statutory and conceptual approach. Data were obtained through a literature review of laws and regulations, law books, and scientific journals. The results show that legal protection against online arisan fraud is regulated in Article 378 of the Criminal Code and the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions. However, in practice, law enforcement still faces various obstacles, such as difficulties in providing evidence and low public legal awareness.
