Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of active learning strategies through presentation and discussion methods in the Introduction to Islamic Studies course for first-semester students of the Sharia Economics Study Program at Tribakti Islamic University. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observations of the learning process, interviews with lecturers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The results show that the application of active learning strategies can increase student active participation, strengthen understanding of Islamic concepts, and develop critical thinking and communication skills. Obstacles faced include limited time, student readiness for discussions, and differences in ability to express opinions. Overall, the presentation and discussion methods proved effective in creating interactive and meaningful learning in the Introduction to Islamic Studies course.
