Abstract

This research is entitled "Analysis of criminal law on copyright infringement in the digital era against online cinematographic content piracy" This research aims to find out the criminal law on copyright infringement in the digital era against online cinematographic content piracy and to find out the legal protection of copyright holders against online cinematographic content piracy. In this research using the Normative Research Type where the type of research is a statutory approach, examining problems about literature or document studies. And because the normative legal research method is used in this thesis The data sources used in this research are secondary data in the form of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials and tertiary legal materials. The results of the study show that the results of the study that can be concluded from this study are that in Indonesia, problems regarding copyright infringement in cinematography such as downloading, watching, and duplicating pirated films without permission from the creator are not a serious problem. As a result of such things can result in enormous losses and a decrease in understanding of the law related to copyright has not been able to run well. So that people who have committed piracy should be dealt with firmly based on applicable legal provisions.
