IMPLEMENTASI DATA WAREHOUSE DAN BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE UNTUK MONITORING KINERJA AKADEMIK MAHASISWA DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract

Monitoring student academic performance in higher education faces challenges in processing data scattered across various systems and difficulties in generating analytical information to support decision-making. This study aims to implement a data warehouse and business intelligence to improve the effectiveness of monitoring student academic performance. The research method uses a data warehouse architecture design with a star schema, an ETL process for academic data integration, and the development of an interactive dashboard. Data collected from the academic system includes student data, grades, attendance, and GPA. Analysis was conducted using OLAP techniques to generate analytical dimensions per study program, year, and academic achievement trends. The implementation results show that the system successfully integrates data from various sources with an ETL process time of 15 minutes for 50,000 records. The BI dashboard is capable of presenting 12 types of analytical reports with a response time of less than 3 seconds, including visualization of GPA distribution, graduation rates, and identification of at-risk students. The system increases the speed of information access by 75% and reduces report generation time from 2 days to 30 minutes. A limitation of the study is that the implementation has only been carried out in one faculty and has not been integrated with non-academic data. The conclusion shows that the implementation of data warehouse and business intelligence is effective for monitoring academic performance, providing insight for early intervention, and supporting strategic decision-making in higher education.
