AKTUALISASI KONSEP IBADAH DALAM DUNIA TEKNIK: MENUMBUHKAN KESADARAN SPIRITUAL MAHASISWA TEKNIK MESIN DI POLINEMA PSDKU KAMPUS KEDIRI

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the modern era often makes engineering students more oriented towards rational and material aspects, so that spiritual values ​​​​are starting to be marginalized. However, in the Islamic perspective, all human activities, including technical and professional activities, can be considered worship if they are based on sincere intentions and aimed at the welfare of the community. This study aims to analyze how the concept of worship can be actualized in the world of engineering and how its application can foster the spiritual awareness of Mechanical Engineering students at the State Polytechnic of Malang PSDKU Kediri Campus. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The research subjects included lecturers of Islamic Religious Education and students majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Data were analyzed through the process of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions to describe the meaning of worship in academic and vocational contexts. The results show that students who understand worship broadly are able to interpret learning activities, workshop practices, and technical projects as a form of devotion to Allah SWT. The actualization of values ​​​​such as trustworthiness, discipline, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation are a reflection of worship in the world of engineering. Spiritual awareness grows alongside applied and contextual Islamic Education (PAI) learning, which emphasizes that work and creativity are manifestations of obedience to Allah SWT. Thus, the integration of Islamic values ​​and technical activities can shape the character of engineering students to be both professional and religious.
