SALOM VERSUS SALAM (STUDI TRADISI KENABIAN)
Keywords:
Ghairu Tasri'iyah, Hadith, Salam, TraditionAbstract
This study examines Arabic traditions in the hadith, using the concept of ghairu tasri'iyah as an analytical framework to distinguish between aspects of Sharia law and the cultural expressions of the Prophet Muhammad. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive-comparative analysis of primary sources in the form of hadith books and secondary literature discussing the Arab socio-cultural context during the Prophet's time. The study focuses on two examples of traditions: the tradition of salam, which is substantially tasri'iyah because it contains Sharia legal values, and the tradition of wearing head coverings, which in the local context is manifested through the blankon (head covering) as a symbol of Nusantara culture and falls within the realm of ghairu tasri'iyah. The results show that not all Arabic traditions in the hadith have normative legal value; rather, some are contextual cultural expressions. Thus, Muslims have room to maintain their local cultural identity as long as it does not conflict with Sharia principles. This approach opens up opportunities for harmonization between universal Islamic values and the diversity of global Muslim cultures, especially in the context of da'wah (preaching) and daily religious practices
